"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does." James 1:22-25
Don't just read the Bible--do it. That's the big thought behind much of the book of James. But isn't salvation by grace, not by works? We can't work our way to God, but why does God want us to serve Him? And if we're not serving Christ with our lives, what does that mean?
Join Dr. Merritt as he unpacks this rich New Testament epistle to find out How Faith Works. It's an "under the hood" look at the Gospel and how true faith powers our actions and is revealed in our daily lives. Instead of being burdened by a list of "to do's" for God, we are free, in Christ, to serve Him wholeheartedly for the first time.
