Scriptures: Matthew 6:19-24
What do you treasure and why? If you learn to see wealth as God sees wealth, you will gladly, gratefully and generously invest in God's work. Yet many--if not most--Christ-followers give very little of their income to God's work. Through this message, Dr. Merritt explains why many Christ-followers store up their treasures on earth, instead of investing their treasure in heaven. Jesus Himself shares a simple illustration that will help you to understand where and how to invest your resources in a way that honors and glorifies God.
"It surprises people to learn that 15% of everything Jesus said related directly to money and to finances. Jesus talked more about money than He talked about heaven and hell combined. There is a simple reason why He did and it is found throughout the Bible. You cannot divorce your faith and your finances. The Bible talks about money more than 800 times. You can pretty much summarize what the Bible says about money in the 'Treasure Principle.' Do you know what the Treasure Principle is all about? You are going to breathe a sigh of relief when I tell you this. It is not so much about giving your money as it is in managing your money." --Dr. Merritt
