Scriptures: Acts 1-15
When Jesus ascended into heaven, He left just eleven men to begin the most transformational organization on the face of the earth: His church. In the book of Acts we read about the amazing beginning of the church. The coming of the Holy Spirit was a catalyst that ignited this band of believers into preaching the Gospel and proclaiming Christ to all.
The church began to grow. But not without challenges and questions along the way. In this practical series, Dr. James Merritt explores the beginnings of the church, and how the book of Acts applies to our church in today's culture. As we are challenged to be the bold organization that the early church was, and are warned of tangents that will sidetrack God's mission for us on earth, we can understand the powerful impact our lives and our churches can have in our world.
