As hard as it is to believe, the longest of the Ten Commandments deals with one simple thing--taking a day off. Let's face it, to keep this commandment, you have to literally swim against the riptide of the cultural current we face today. To take a day off just to think about God and to devote your time to God to many people seems ridiculous. In this message, Dr. Merritt talks about God's purpose for the Lord's Day in rest for our bodies and in rejoicing through worship.
"There is more to the Sabbath than the absence of work. There is also the presence of worship. The Sabbath in the Old Testament and the Sunday in the New Testament had something in common. The Lord's people gathered on that day for worship." --Dr. Merritt
