Scriptures: Ecclesiastes 10
This world is full of people who fly through their entire life wasting it on Trivial Pursuits. They get no input from God. They don’t seek any guidance, wisdom or counsel from the Creator who made them and they wind up wasting their life pursuing things that really don’t matter and end up crashing and burning. In Ecclesiastes, Solomon both warns of the folly of chasing after trivial things in life, and gives practical advice on pursuing the things of God. Dr. Merritt uses this message to encourage the listener with helpful ways to avoid a life of trivial pursuits.
"Wise people plan their work and then they work their plan. One of the greatest things you can do on a daily basis is to prioritize your time whether it is on a calendar, or a sheet of paper or on your hand. If you will write down the four or five most important things you have to do on a given day, in order, and try to do them in order, it will amaze you at how much more productive you will become." --Dr. Merritt
