Scriptures: Ecclesiastes 12:1-13
Ecclesiastes is a Bible book for people who feel trapped on the treadmill of life--always running, but getting nowhere. They never find the buried treasure of purpose, meaning, and real satisfaction in life. Then the end comes... Over time, you will see certain signs to let you know that you are going to face death. Just keep looking in the mirror and you will see the telltale signs--decaying teeth, graying hair, and fraying body all tell us every day that we get one step closer to the day when all days come to an end. We're left with the question, "What did it all mean, really?" As Solomon brings his writing to a close, he does it by looking back, then by looking ahead, and then by looking up. As Dr. Merritt explains, he leaves the reader with three fantastic pieces of advice to get the most out of this life and to get ready for the life to come.
"If you are under the age of 30 whether you are married or single listen up: as early as possible, build your life around God and make God the central focus and the permanent foundation of your life. Give God the best years of your life, because the best years of your life, at least from a physical standpoint, don’t last forever." --Dr. Merritt
