The sin of adultery is one that in our current culture we often no longer condemn. Worse, in many circles it's even condoned. In a sex-saturated society, we've gone from talking about adultery as wrong and sinful, to just "being discreet", to claiming it's just nobody else's business. The result is a culture where children 10 and older will see more than 7,000 scenes on TV and other media annually that portray sex outside of marriage. None of this is a surprise to God, Who gave pointed and explicit commands and instruction concerning the sin and consequences of adultery. In a recent survey, one in four Christian men indicated they had done something sexually inappropriate. The Bible calls this behavior simply foolish. In this message, Dr. Merritt confronts the sin of adultery and teaches how to recognize the danger signs, repent from sinful behavior and avoid it entirely.
"Because of our widespread sanction of sexual permissiveness, and because of our condoning sexual promiscuity, we've adopted new terminology: What used to be immoral, we now call sexually active. What used to be homosexual, we now call gay. What used to be pornography, we call adult entertainment. What used to be adultery, we now call an affair. Well, there is something distinct; there is something different about sexual sin." --Dr. Merritt
