How do you view Jesus? Just a man, a prophet, a martyr? How we view Christ greatly affects our relationship with Him. Christ was the one and only human who was absolutely perfect. If you believe that's a relatively safe statement to say in church, think again--42% of people think Jesus sinned just like other people, according to a survey. If you live on the statement that "nobody's perfect", then Jesus' life is going to have special meaning for you. Because He totally defeated sin, we can personally defeat sin in our own lives.
"When Jesus Christ left heaven and came to this planet and took on human flesh and became one of us, He did it so we could know we have someone who has been through life just like we have and that includes temptation. The text says that He wasn’t just tempted, but He was 'in all points tempted as we are.' Jesus faced exactly the same temptations that we do." --Dr. Merritt
