Scripture: Hebrews 12:5-11
How does God deal with us and the issue of sin? He doesn't deal with us legalistically, meaning you mess up one time and that's it. On the other hand, He doesn't deal with us liberally where He just says sin is no big deal and lets it go. He deals with us lovingly. When God confronts you about wrong doing in your life--about crossing over into the dark side--it is not meant to discourage you; it is meant to encourage you.
"One of the marks that you are a child of God is that God will confront you and discipline you when you do sin. Understand this--God only confronts His children." --Dr. Merritt
