Is it possible to be a Christian headed for heaven, yet still be so attached to our nature as to be living for the world? As you study the life of Lot in the Old Testament, you would have a hard time proving that he was a saved man. It would be very difficult to prove that he was right with God, though in the New Testament we indeed found out that God saved him. Sadly there are many "Lots" in the church today. People who are saved, but that's all they are. They are not separated, they're not sanctified, they're not serving, they're not sharing, they're just--there. The church today is under a curse, the curse of carnal Christianity. In this message, Dr. Merritt challenges believers to be more than Christians in word, but to understand the full depth and commitment of a life surrendered to Christ.
"There are two questions that come to every human soul. The first question is: Heaven or Hell? The second question is: Heaven or Earth? Now Lot had answered the first question when he left Ur and joined Abraham. But he answered the second question when he left Abraham and joined Sodom." --Dr. Merritt
