Scriptures: 1 Timothy 1:15, Luke 19:10, 5:31-32, Romans 5:8
We are living in an age when knowledge is exploding. We have more knowledge at our fingertips than ever before in the history of mankind. Information has become so easily accessible through our internet systems and communication abilities that the increase in knowledge is possibly doubling or quadrupling at a higher rate than anyone could have imagined or thought possible. The increase of knowledge could be well described as a tidal wave because of the enormity and volume of information accessible. There is much we cannot know, but there is one thing everyone should know, "Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners." In this message, Dr. Merritt unpacks the most basic belief in Christ that leads to a saving knowledge of Him.
"The reason He came, the reason He was sent, was to save sinners. If our problem had been knowledge, God would have sent a teacher. If our problem had been technology, God would have sent a scientist. If our problem had been money, God would have sent a philanthropist. If our problem had been peace, God would have sent a diplomat. If our problem had been health, God would have sent a doctor. Our problem was sin and God sent us a Savior. Jesus did not come to show us the way to heaven, He is the way. Jesus did not come to tell us the truth, He is the Truth. Jesus did not come to lead us to life, He is the Life. He is all that we need and everything we need to be saved." --Dr. Merritt
