Scriptures: 1 Peter 3:1-7
You know the old saying, “Marriages are made in heaven?” That is true, but so is thunder and lighting. Conflict will arise at some point in each and every marriage. One of the reasons why there is tension and conflict in a marriage is because God has created man and woman in such uniquely different ways. Differences, not only bring spice to a relationship, but they bring sparks to a relationship. The God who created marriage knew that we would need help in making a marriage work, holding a marriage together and resolving conflicts. In this message, Dr. Merritt identifies the God-driven solution to the two biggest spiritual problems that cause conflict in marriage.
"It does take two to handle conflict. One cannot do it alone. Let me tell you why it is so important that you win the battle of fighting battles. There is no way possible that you can win in a war with your mate, because the Bible says you and your mate are one. If either one, damages the other, they both lose, because they ultimately are damaging themselves." --Dr. Merritt
