Scriptures: John 3:16, Acts 1:8, 5:32, 20:24, 1 John 5:10, Matthew 9:37
God wants you to have a ministry in the church, but He also wants you to have a mission in the world. The difference is ministry is serving Christ primarily for believers; mission is sharing Christ with unbelievers. In fact, the ultimate goal of a church is to make disciples and the ultimate result of a disciple is a follower of Christ who agrees to be a missionary. In this message, Dr. Merritt unpacks how each and every believer can be a missionary for the cause of Christ locally and globally.
"I want to submit to you today that Jesus Christ did not come to this planet and die on a cross to pay for the sins of the world, just so we could form a spiritual social club where we could get together in a holy huddle once a week and tell each other how wonderful we are. I submit to you, that Jesus Christ came to this earth and died for the sins of the world and left us--His followers--on this earth, so that we could share with those who do not know Christ, how they too can be forgiven." --Dr. Merritt
