It is a phrase that is written or stamped on all of the money of the United States. Yet, the statement "In God We Trust" is mere historical culture today for most North Americans. Why should we trust in God and if we really do trust in God, what would that mean for the way we live our lives?

The word "trust" in the Hebrew language literally means "to lie down on" or "to stretch out on." Every night when you go to bed you lie down on your mattress, stretch out, put your full weight down on your bed and you never give a second thought to what you just did. You don't just put one foot on the floor or hold on to the frame; you just lie down. The same way you trust your bed is the same way you ought to trust God. In this message, Dr. Merritt communicates the central truth that when we trust in God, He guides us. He has a plan for us and wants to guide each and every step of our lives.
