There is no doubt that the internet has changed the way we communicate. For nearly all of us email and texting has virtually replaced traditional letters and even telephone calls as the primary way we correspond. Everyday billions of messages are sent around the world. In this sermon, Dr. Merritt shares an old message in a new format. God wants to be number one on your friend list. Believe it or not, you can IM with the I AM. You really can instantaneously connect with God and know that you are connected with God if certain things are true and you have the right connection. The keys are found in two power packed verses in a little letter called 1 John.
"I am convinced that most people don’t even understand the purpose of prayer. The purpose of prayer is not to get our will done in heaven. It is to get God’s will done on earth. Incidentally, do you know why you should always desire the will of God? God wants to give you what you would want God to give you if you were wise enough to want it." --Dr. Merritt
