Scripture: Luke 11:5-8
Does God really care? Does He hear us when we pray? Most of the time, we don't receive an immediate answer to prayer. Because we live in a culture where we can get just about any and everything we want immediately, those delayed answers to prayer are hard for us to take. In the prayer that Jesus gave the disciples, though He tells them what to say, He doesn't go into how to say it. Since God is so Holy and since He is busy running this vast universe, should we keep our requests to a minimum? Should we wonder whether or not we ever bother God? To answer that question, Jesus tells a story that is found only in one gospel.
