Oftentimes the question is asked, "Is America in the Bible?" The answer to that question is both no and yes. We do not find America directly in the Bible, or any Bible prophecy that can be directly traced to United States. But on the other hand, we do see how God deals with and treats nations in Scripture and His treatment of nations which defy and disobey Him is always consistent. Three thousand years after God birthed the nation of Israel, our nation was born. We have been equally disobedient as a country, defying God's will and law. Because of this, we may very well suffer the same consequences as Israel faced. In this timely message, Dr. Merritt draws broad parallels between the United States and God's treatment of rebellious nations in the Bible, and offers a hopeful solution based on revival and return to holiness throughout our country.
"Many Americans sow their wild oats Monday through Saturday, and then go to church on Sunday and pray for crop failure. Well, repentance means to hate sin and to turn away from it. The only choice America has is to repent or perish. Don’t you get the idea that if we will just elect godly officials into political offices, and get Christian people into high places, we will solve all of our problems. I do believe we ought to vote for godly people, and I think it is wonderful to see Christians elected to high places. But the solution to America’s problem is not at the ballot box, it is at the prayer rail." --Dr. Merritt
